This is a picture that I took for my Photojournalism class
when the point of the assignment was to find light. This picture was taken
around 9:00 pm on the Nikon D810 with a 80mm lens. The shutter speed was 30
seconds long. The picture is of two cars, one going left and the other going
right, that’s why there is a white line and red lines. I know this has been
done a lot but I’ve never really tried it myself, so I thought I‘d give it a
go. I really had fun doing it. I really
like long exposures, they can come out looking so cool.

Morning Light
This is a picture that I took for my Photojournalism class.
The focus of the picture was supposed to be light. I wasn’t planning on getting
up and taking this picture. I just got up to go to school early and the sun was
just so beautiful that I had to stop and take some pictures. I had to walk down
the road a bit to get the picture I wanted but I’m pretty happy with it. I didn’t
get to school as early as I wanted to but that’s okay. I like the pictures that
came out of it and it made me wonder why I don’t get up more often and take
pictures in the gorgeous golden sunrise light.

Man on the Street
This
is a picture that I took of my Mom for a project in my Multimedia class. We had
to take 5 pictures of 5 different people then interview them and make a video
out of it. I enjoyed it. I used my Nikon D7000 with a 50mm lens. I like how
this picture turned out. It’s a little on the cool side but I like it all the
same. We had to take a Long shot, a
Medium shot, a Close up, an Extreme Close up and another one of our choosing. I
picked a High Angle shot, which is what this is.
The Potter
This
is a picture that I shot for my Photojournalism class. The picture is of a man
I came across while leaving school. His name is Wade Craven. This is the
caption that went along with the picture. “Wade Craven crafts an Inca pot
completely by hand outside of the Pottery Center at RCC. Craven States, ‘Every
generation of my family has made pottery since the early 1700’s.’ (Photo by
Kristi Craven)”
I thought
that was so cool, and he was more than willing to let me take his picture. He
told me all about his pottery. I really enjoyed meeting him.

Sky
This is a picture I took at Starbucks when I went to pick up
my little sisters after they spent the night with some friends. As I was waiting for
them I noticed how cool and amazing the sky looked and decided that I had to take
a picture. The sky was just beautiful. The picture was taken with a Nikon D7000
with a wide angle lens. I had a lot of fun with this picture. I like taking
pictures of the sky. It isn’t the best picture by any means but it’s a start. This
picture was taken around 8:00 PM in Kannapolis NC.
